Lawyer sentenced to 5-10 in prison for raping a 21-year-old
- A former lawyer of Boston and a prosecutor who was once nominated as one of the reputable men in the field was sentenced on Monday to between 5 – 10 years in prison.
- He was nominated by People’s magazine as the most eligible bachelors.
- Gary Zerola, 52, was found guilty of rape by a jury and was sentenced. He was acquitted of aggravated rape and they gave him a 5-10 years jail sentence.
- It is believed in 2021 January when they had a drink and his victim was drunk that he took her to her room but later came at night by 2 am and abused her against her will and permission persecutors had said.
- In her complaint, the woman said she did everything to stop him from doing so but he kept insisting and she had no more strength to fight.
- The woman wrote that for months after the incident, she had recurring nightmares every night about the assault. She still experiences nightmares to this day, imagining someone breaking into her apartment and trying to assault her.
