  • A woman from Milwaukee said she had the legal right to kill a man who made her do prostitution and was sentenced on Monday for murder. She was sentenced to 11 years for reckless homicide.
  • Kenosha County Judge imposed a sentence of 11 years of initial confinement followed by five years of extended supervision for Chrystul Kizer in connection with the 2018 death of 34-year-old Randall Volar. She received credit for approximately 570 days, roughly 1.5 years, of time already served.
  • The judge ruled that Kizer would not be eligible for any early release programs with the Department of Corrections, indicating that her expected release date would be in 2033, according to the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s office. In May, Kizer pleaded guilty to second-degree reckless homicide about Volar’s death, thereby avoiding trial and a potential life sentence.
  • Prosecutors reported that Kizer shot Volar at his home in Kenosha in 2018 when she was just 17 years old. After the shooting, she allegedly set his house on fire and stole his BMW. Kizer faced multiple charges, including first-degree intentional homicide, arson, automobile theft, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
