Tithing is one of the most important aspects of the Christian work with God. Tithing is very important when it comes to fulfilling God’s purpose for your life. Many Christians who are not spiritually alerted are in a conflict within if a Christian should pay tithes or not.
Tithes are 10% of whatever you get or receive. It could be monthly or weekly.
Is to be noted that tithing is different from offerings, seeds and other Christian contributions in church. A Christian does not give tithes but pays tithes. There is a difference between giving and paying.

Tithing is food in God’s house. There are many preachers who are pastoring full time and giving all their attention to God’s work. They have families to cater for and they have needs also. That is why it’s important to give tithes in your local church.

7. Tithing makes God to rebuke the devourer.
The devourer is not only Satan and devils or evil spirits. The devourer could be friends and people whom you know and may try to exploit and steal from you. Or try to take advantage of you. God will protect you from all these people. Satan and his demons will not be able to lay a hand on you. Even if God allows persecution or trials to happen to you, you will not be destroyed. The Bible says when I go through the fire, I shall not be burnt.
8. Tithing protects your fruits.
One of the reasons you should pay your tithes is that tithing protects your fruits. Your fruits could be money you worked for, your farm produce and even your children. Remember the word of God calls babies the ‘fruit of the womb’.
9. Tithing opens opportunities for you.
It says all the nations shall call you blessed. So, tithing opens up opportunities for you. You will start meeting important personalities and get great connections in society. These connections will literally change your life forever.
10. Tithing makes you a delightful person.
A delightful person gets a lot of favor from people and nations. You get this favor because you become a wonder and you are enjoyable, attractive and very pleasant.

In conclusion, it pays to pay your tithes in church. It must not necessarily be a church building. The church is the body of Christ and not a building. So, your tithes can still be given to that Evangelist or pastor who goes from one village to another village to preach the gospel. He must not necessarily have a church building to benefit from your tithes.
So, the essence of tithing for the Christian is to support God’s Work. When you give in church it can also help to feed the pastors who are on salary.
